Treasury Accountant
MBN Recruitment currently have an excellent senior opportunity for an experienced Treasury Accountant with a leading financial client in Edinburgh.
JOB PURPOSE
To support the management of the Treasury and Asset and Liability Management functions
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS NEEDED
*Professional Accountancy qualification and advantage
*Excellent data analysis and interpretation ability
*Ability to communicate at all levels
*Excellent report writing skills
*Inquisitive mind, prepared to challenge existing policy and procedure
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Corporate Governance
*Prepare and/or review Treasury performance papers for:
Risk management Committee (RMC)
Asset and Liability Committee (ALCO)
Executive Committee (ExCo)
Audit Committee
SB Board
Preparation and development of ALCO reports
Treasury Management
*Daily Dealing - Assist in the preparation of the daily treasury pack and daily dealing process
*Treasury Management - ensure daily compliance with regulatory requirements and Treasury policies and procedures
*Recommend and implement best Treasury policies and accounting practice
*Work with Retail Asset and Liability Management team to produce the monthly ALM pack for Treasury
*Implement ad hoc Treasury projects, including changes to regulatory requirements
Market Risk Management
*Work with data model feeds for key product assumptions including customer prepayment behaviour
*Monitor credit risk of wholesale portfolio and report as required on risks/opportunities in the investment portfolio.
Forecasts/Budgets
*Preparation of the Treasury budget and forecasts, within agreed timescales
*Develop relationships with the business areas and influence product managers input to the budget and forecast
*Work with the Product Teams to recognise the impact of these areas on the Treasury Function
General
*Develop relationships with Treasury, product teams and external contacts to assist in the development of the Treasury function
*Flexible approach to cover all areas of the Treasury function when required
