Service Desk Lead
The Employed Consultant Division within Elan Computing, Europe's leading IT and T supplier, has an opportunity for a Service Desk Lead to start within the next month. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work for Elan Computing on a Fixed Term Contract basis and to work on specific "Assignment" to our clients.
What does being an Elan Employed Consultant involve?
In a nutshell, you will be employed by Elan Computing with access to employee benefits including a minimum of 22 paid days holiday, skills training, life assurance and many other perks. You would also be eligible for a yearly performance based bonus after successfully completing 12 Months service. You will be assigned to a specific Elan client and work on site with them on long term projects, and paid a monthly salary.

Our client, a Telecommunications Giant, requires an experienced Service Desk Lead to join them initially in Edinburgh and then later in Newcastle.
This role requires a strong background in IT Service Desks, previous Team Leader/Management experience and knowledge of ITIL. Candidates should have a basic awareness of ISO20000 and proficiency in following processes and procedures. Candidates should also have experience of using a service management system to manage incidents.
The chosen candidate will ensure the ongoing operational management of the 1st Line Service Desk Team is carried out in line with business and project requirements and ensure that procedures are documented in line with quality standards and are used appropriately. He/She will ensure a best practice approach is taken to the delivery of support and manage development and performance of Service Desk Analysts through individual performance management. The Service Desk Lead will proactively manage staff availability in order to ensure the Service Desk meets all its agreed performance benchmarks.
Candidates will need to be extremely proactive, and articulate with strong leadership abilities.
