Purpose of the role
First line interface between directly employed field operatives, sub-contractor field agents and FTEL Operations Management and Support Team. Accountable for directly managing site works towards delivering and exceeding our clients delivery and quality targets. Prime responsibility to work closely with Field Coordinators to ensure workflow levels are optimised.
Areas of Responsibility
Planning and prioritisation of civil work activities (team visits, checks, meetings, etc.)
Owning, executing and delivering work requirements against customer metrics.
Maintaining and improving productivity without compromising safety and quality.
Promote site safety.
Carry out pre-site surveys and deal effectively with planning departures and site problems. Escalate relevant issues and observations to Field Operations Manager.
Liaison with local authority agents and other third parties as part of job planning and execution.
Daily interface with Job Controllers and Noticing Dept on job updates ie job departures, work completions, extensions etc. Supervisor drives gang performance.
Coaching of teams in the spirit of continuous improvement & identify training needs.
Monitoring and relay of major design/cost work package variances to Field Operations Manager.
Continuous tracking of gang production, material and plant hire usage. Work closely with Plant Administrator, ensuring plant hire procedure is adhered to.
Carry out regular in-progress and retrospective checks with teams to ensure their work is being carried out in accordance with Quality and Health & Safety standards.
Ensure accurate completion of all paperwork in job packs and signing off quality certificates.
Ensure Direct and Subcontract Teams comply with TMA and Section 74 Noticing.
Complete as-built drawings for direct labour (where applicable). Check, stamp and sign as-built information for sub-contractors (where applicable).
Ensure teams complete daily site diary.

Experience / Qualifications
Proven experience of overseeing and managing the delivery of civil field activities
Ability to draw together different technical disciplines
Engineering knowledge
Able to communicate with senior management
Able to identify and work with key stakeholders inside and outside of Engineering
Telecoms industry experience
Process improvement
