Purpose of the role
Responsibility for designated Civil and Fibre Field Operations. Provide team leadership of Supervisors in meeting objectives of FTEL and Fibrecity Client. Drive and maximise field operation performance of FTEL and associate Sub Contractor resource.
Areas of Responsibility
Manage civil, fibre and customer install operations, applying chargeship, coaching and guidance to in house supervisors and subcontract representatives.
Apply effective management and cost control relative to Direct Labour P & L.
Ensure field operations are managed to achieve or exceed KPIs as set out in contract.
Provide close monitor and control of team productivity particulary weekend working.
Manage Subcontract Labour across relevant workstreams. Chair and lead Subcontract Review Meetings.
Ensure work package closures are submitted for invoicing within prescribed timescales.
Maintain focus and drive on Quality, Safety and Environmental initiatives. Participate/ lead on QIP and SIPs.
Act as catalyst for new and innovative field solutions. Conduct tool box talks.
Develop project specific method statements, risk assessments as required. Be conversant with CDM practice and procedures.
Ensure teams are fully kitted out to meet regulatory and contractual requirements.
Ensure Direct and Subcontractor Teams comply with TMA and Section 74 Noticing.
Manage risks and issues and seek rapid resolution. When this is not possible, escalate for resolution.
Create a close working relationship with all In House Teams, Client Representatives and Local Authority Agents. Maintain regular team communications.
Represent Fujitsu at stakeholder meetings as required. eg Client or Local Authority.
Jointly work with Project Engineer in producing and presenting dedicated performance stats.
Occasionally represent Head of Project during leave periods.
Qualifications / Experience
Significant experience from managing front line field operations
Understanding technical and quality requirements commensurate with the discipline Track record in communication with both external and internal stakeholders Demonstrated abilities to manage set of KPIs and relate these to field operations Telecoms (civils) and (cable/activation) experience.
